General information:
Gananea was completely restored in 2005 maintaining the original
structure: stone, wood, antique windows, balconies, etc.
Most of the furniture is antique, belonging to the family.
All the lamps and fixtures used for lighting in the house
are forged iron made by a local craftsman.
History of the house:
We are not certain of the exact date of construction (circa
1800) but relatives of the current owners acquired it in
1900. The last person to be in the house was a woman who
sold the house because she had no descendants. Until then,
it had been used as a farm, like most of the manors in the
area. With the change of ownership it was initially used
for housing livestock and at around 1930 it was used as
a rural police station until 1962, when it was again turned
into a traditional farm.
It was reformed in 2005 as a rural tourism facility.
